FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Embellish Turns One and Looks Ahead to an Event-Filled Year Two
(Rocky River, OH - June 20, 2007) Northeast Ohio's own Embellish celebrates its first anniversary on July 1st. In the past year the Rocky River store has introduced customers of all ages to the fun behind creating unique jewelry.
Embellish caters to those with little or no jewelry making experience by providing all of the beads, tools and hands-on help necessary to design one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, earrings, anklets, watches and other unique beaded treasures.
Within its first year, Embellish has hosted private parties for many occasions, including birthdays, bachelorette parties, wedding preparation, Girls Night Out, Girl Scout outings, and holiday gift making workshops. The private party room has also been a backdrop for the Red Hat Society, a sorority alumnae group, neighborhood associations, PTAs, office parties and even a few First Communion rosary making events.
Local brides, meanwhile, have found that Embellish adds a unique touch to their special day.
Cara Yoder brought her entire bridal party to Embellish before her wedding. "Everyone had such a wonderful time making the jewelry and it was a unique way for all of the bridesmaids to bond before the wedding," the Cleveland resident said. "They all loved that they were able to create a piece of jewelry that reflected their style. I wanted to give them something they would want to wear again, and Embellish provided a great way to ensure that."
A mother of a bride came to Embellish to create a keepsake bracelet using leftover beads and sequins from her daughter's wedding gown. Others, too, have discovered Embellish is the perfect location to make one-of-a-kind gifts for birthdays, Mother's Day, the holidays and other special occasions.
Other highlights of the past year:
- Embellish customers raised nearly $1,000 for Dress for Success by creating jewelry which was auctioned off at the charity's annual gala event.
- Children of all ages beaded snowflakes last holiday season. Proceeds benefited the Rocky River Assistance Program.
- Club Embellish formed to provide a monthly outlet for experienced beaders. The Club welcomed jewelry making tool inventor Josephine Silverfox to its March event.
Year two's highlights will include:
- Embellish will create 1,000 pins for the 2007 Susan G. Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure.
- Dress for Success, again, will benefit from a series of jewelry making parties where customers donate their creations to the annual A Denim Affair gala event.
Embellish will kick off its First Anniversary weekend on Friday, June 29 with raffle prizes and a 15 percent off discount to all customers who wear their favorite Embellish creation into the store. On Saturday, June 30 the fun continues with all-day jewelry making demos by local featured artist Michelle Lake as well as giveaways to the first 25 customers.
"It's been a tremendous year," says owner Laura Jacobs, who left corporate America last June to pursue the dream of owning her own business. "If I had known how much fun it would be to come to work every day, I would have done this years earlier."
